stuck in salt lake city -

welp...we ended up flying into atlanta rather than cinncinati, which went smooth, but then our connecting flight to utah was delayed because the plane wasn't back from FRANCE yet... so, about 60 of us who were supposed to catch a 9pm flight from salt lake to anchorage ended up missing it by only 5 minutes! and the nextflight to alaska isn't until late tomorrow night... the good news is they've put us in a nice hotel and gave us $100 in food vouchers, and we have free wireless internet access which has allowed me to send out this e-mail:) we thought we might check out the city tomorrow (looks like the mormon temple is the big tourist site here;) but it's 28 degrees & i'm still in my shorts & t-shirt and our coats are in our checked luggage on an airplane somewhere.... so i think we'll end up playing in the airportmost of the day;) by the way, it's -42 in fairbanks, which is about 110 degrees cooler than it was when we left fayetteville, north carolina, on saturday!!! thanks for all the encouraging replies and farewells, shane, misti & gracee ps--to all our friends in alaska, we hope to see you on thursday!

hey everyone, just wanted to let you know we're headed back home to fairbanks tomorrow afternoon out of charlotte, north carolina. we've just got a couple of quick stops in cinncinati and salt lake city, then a 7-hour drive north from anchorage.
pray for us when you think of it while we're traveling over the next couple of days:)
sorry we haven't been online much over the past month or so, but we've been crazy busy reconnecting with so many friends & family back in north carolina & virginia. grace has had so much fun, but is now really missing friends back in alaska.
we'll be back online later next week!
